Dothan Housing Opens Its HCV (Section 8) Waitlist Ready to Serve the Community
July 7, 2023— Dothan Housing Authority will accept online applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV/Section 8) from 8:00 am CT on Monday, August 7, 2023, through 5:00 pm CT Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
The Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government’s major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Since housing assistance is provided on the family’s or individual’s behalf, participants can find their housing, including single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments. The participant is free to choose any housing that meets the program’s requirements and is not limited to units located in subsidized housing projects.
First launching last year as a part of the agency’s digital transformation, Dothan Housing’s online application portal will be available on any device with access to the internet with the link as follows, https://www.waitlistcheck.com/ AL3119. Paper applications will not be available, and the office will not receive fax requests. Please contact the Dothan Housing Authority at 334-794-6713 if a reasonable accommodation is needed. Citizens in need can request reasonable accommodations before Monday, August 7, 2023. Computer lab access is available on-site inside OCHEC (Our Community Housing and Enrichment Center) located at 1001 Montana Street, Dothan, AL, 36303.
