Wiregrass Area Homeless Connect and Point-In-Time Count 2024
Housing Non-Profits Partner to Host the 2nd Annual Homeless Connect Event
Dothan, AL— Dothan Housing Authority (DHA), along with ARCH, SEACH, and Wiregrass-2-1-1, will be hosting the second annual Homeless Connect & Point-in-Time Count this Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This vital event aims to connect individuals experiencing homelessness with essential resources and services while also gathering critical data about the homeless population in our community.
The event will bring together several local service providers offering a variety of resources, including:
- Housing assistance
- Healthcare screenings
- Mental health support
- Legal aid
- Food and clothing distribution
- Employment opportunities
- And much more!
During the event, trained volunteers will conduct the Point-In-Time Count! Using discretion and confidentiality, they will count participating individuals experiencing homelessness. This data is crucial for:
- Securing vital funding for homeless programs
- Identifying gaps in services
- Measuring progress towards ending homelessness
