Housing Authority Elevates Three Skilled Female Leaders

Dothan, AL— Dothan Housing Authority (DHA) announced the exciting promotions of three dedicated employees, recognizing their invaluable contributions and commitment to serving our agency’s families and the communities. This move underscores DHA’s dedication to employee growth and fostering a talented team.

Mysin Harris has been promoted to Director of Finance and Accounting. In her previous role as Senior Accountant, she consistently went above and beyond maintaining and managing the agency’s financial affairs. In her new capacity, Harris will be responsible for managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and department budget management, ultimately playing a pivotal role in the financial viability of DHA.

“We are thrilled to recognize Mysin’s talent and dedication with this well-deserved promotion,” said Samuel P. Crawford, CEO of DHA. “Her expertise is valued, and her dedication to the industry and our families is beyond reproach.”

Tera Wells has been elevated to the position of Director of MTW and Strategic Initiatives. Previously serving as the agency’s Grant Writer, she made significant contributions by crafting various grant applications and writing plans for a Continuum of Care with the Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH), resulting in a historic merger. Now, Wells will tackle the challenges of developing the strategic plan to end homelessness as well as managing the agency’s MTW designation, directly impacting the agency’s reach and efficacy.

“Ms. Wells has been a great asset to the team,” said DHA COO Dr. Michael C. Threatt. “Her ability to stay organized, adapt to agency changes, and use her knowledge to promote community progress is valued.”

Finally, Samiyah Craddock has transitioned to Director of Resident Services and Engagement. Having excelled in her previous position as Resident Services Manager, Craddock is known for her creativity, passion for agency families, and resourcefulness in maintaining and creating new community partnerships. In her new role, she will be responsible for growing community programs, expanding tenant resources, and overseeing all division personnel.

“She has earned this opportunity having made more progress with Resident Services than we’ve seen under previous leadership,” said Dr. Tamara Berry-Andrews, DHA CHO. “Ms. Craddock is skilled and has developed trust and respect with our clients and residents.”

These promotions solidify Dothan Housing’s commitment to its residents, highlight the importance of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) in the workplace, and also celebrate employee professional growth and leadership potential. Each individual’s dedication and expertise will continue to be instrumental in fulfilling DHA’s mission of providing safe, decent, and affordable housing while empowering residents to achieve their full potential.
