Beyond The Roof with Dothan Housing Podcast Launches
Dothan Housing Launches a Podcast Focused on Public Housing Resident Storytelling
Dothan, Ala.— Dothan Housing (DH), a public housing authority (PHA), is proud to launch a new national podcast, Beyond The Roof (BTF), with Dothan Housing. The podcast is dedicated to telling the stories of public housing residents and affordable housing professionals. The light-hearted but thought-provoking audio series is the brainchild of DH’s CEO, Samuel P. Crawford. His hope is for listeners to gain insight into the everyday life, accomplishments, and triumphs associated with affordable housing.
The first season, Growing Up Housing, features current success stories of former public housing residents. Listeners will first hear from Jamillah Kinsey, a Dothan, AL native and prodigy whose time in public housing propelled her on a journey of academic and post-graduate success! The interviews are candid and real, allowing interviewees to share their stories, although their independent views do not represent those of DH.
DH is excited to offer a new platform for residents, community members, and housing professionals to express their views and share their memories pertaining to their affordable housing, public housing, and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) journeys. Leah Gunn, DH’s Communications Coordinator, has been named Co-host of this new series and is elated about sharing these important and historically overlooked stories.
Listeners can look forward to a new episode released every other week, with announcements shared via social media and on DH’s website. The first episode of BTR has launched, and the series can be found on Click Here and Spotify, with additional popular listening platforms soon to come.
