Membership Voting Prep Begins
DOTHAN, AL – On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Dothan Housing will begin a series of community meetings in preparation for the community Resident Advisory Board (RAB) revamp and voting. Community RABs are an integral part of affordable housing and assist in giving input to the public housing authority’s (PHA’s) strategic plan.
According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, The Resident Advisory Board (RAB) provides the PHA and the residents with a forum for sharing information about the Agency’s Annual Plan. Section 511 of the United States Housing Act and the regulations in 24 CFR part 903 require that PHAs establish one or more Resident Advisory Board(s) (RAB) as part of the PHA Plan process.
Dothan Housing’s Department of Affordable Housing & Compliance and the Department of Employee & Customer Experience look forward to each community revamping its existing RAB by incorporating the voting process. This democratic approach will allow the PHAs communities to have a voice in their representation.
The scheduled meetings will take place at 3:30 pm and are as follows.
– 6/14: Henry Green, Phoenix Rising, John R. Lewis
@ Henry Green Community Room
– 6/21: Crimson Ridge

– 6/28: Jamison Village
