DCS Remote Learning Effective January 12, 2022

PER DOTHAN CITY SCHOOL BOARD

Dothan City Schools will move to a fully remote learning model starting on Wednesday, January 12.

Based on increased staff and substitute shortages in relation to an increased number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 and exposures in our area, the safest path forward is to temporarily close our buildings and switch to remote learning for our students.
DCS Remote Learning Effective January 12, 2022
We expect virtual learning to remain in place for at least 3 days. The closure remains in place for at least 3 days with plans for classes to resume on Tuesday, January 18 (Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday). We will continue to re-evaluate the situation and determine if we can safely reopen our school buildings. It is our hope that this transition is only temporary.

Our school principals will follow up with families soon to provide more detail on remote learning. Meals will not be provided during this temporary closure. All athletic events will continue as scheduled.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of our families, students, and staff as we work to protect the health and safety of our school district community.
