Dothan Housing: New VP of Affordable Housing and Compliance

President & CEO, Samuel P. Crawford selects Seasoned Houser, Dr. Tamara Berry-Andrews as the new Vice President of Affordable Housing & Compliance

December 10, 2021– Dothan Housing’s (DH’s) new Vice President of Affordable Housing & Compliance, Dr. Tamara Berry-Andrews, is a 15-year affordable housing professional. She is a proven, affordable housing veteran where she prioritizes and ensures the achievement of goals, is skilled at utilizing best practices, and ensuring that housing programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

In her current role as VP of Affordable Housing & Compliance, Dr. Berry-Andrews is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of DH and its affiliates’ affordable housing portfolio and voucher portfolio. She is also responsible for carrying out policies and directives for these divisions that include strategic planning, goal setting, and the development and implementation of strategies to preserve and enhance the value and condition of DH’s and its affiliates’ affordable housing and voucher portfolio.

Dr. Berry-Andrews’ career began with the City of Atlanta’s Housing and Community Development Department. Since then, her talents and expertise have expanded and her experience includes but is not limited to LIHTC, RAD PBV, RAD PBRA, PBV, Public Housing (Asset Management), and HCVP. Additionally, she has experience with affordable housing development and the successful relocation of families. Prior to joining the team at DH, she served as the Housing Programs Manager at the Troy Housing Authority (THA), where she managed the day-to-day operations of both the HCVP and the Multifamily Programs. Before that, Dr. Berry-Andrews served as the Director of Property and Asset Management for the Montgomery Housing Authority (MHA), where she led the third largest housing authority’s asset management department in the state of Alabama.

Dr. Berry-Andrews obtained her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organizational Leadership and Management, her master’s degree in Leadership and Management, and her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Amridge University. She has numerous affordable housing and leadership training certifications and is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.
